Curriculum Vitae

Isabel Reig Fabado is a professor of private international law in the Adolfo Miaja de la Muela Department of International Law at the University of Valencia. She has worked in various areas of research, such as family law and child protection, particularly international child abduction, and is currently involved in projects on gender perspective, digital environment and fundamental rights and educational innovation. Specifically, she is involved in two research projects related to gender perspective, both in relation to the protection of women in cases of gender violence in international child abduction, and as an analytical category applied to the teaching of private international law. She has published several articles and given various lectures on these subjects. In addition, she has also worked on other subjects such as nationality and immigration law, international trade (she wrote her doctoral thesis on international engineering contracts), and international labor law and worker protection.

She has been involved in more than twenty research projects and has been the principal investigator in three, two of which were on migration issues. She has directed a Jean Monnet Module on European migration policy and European Union citizenship.

She has organized several seminars on immigration law and edited a collective publication on the fundamental rights of foreigners in Spain.

She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in private international law, international trade, and immigration law. She has conducted research at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS) in London and the Max Planck Institute in Hamburg. She has taken postgraduate courses on European Union law at the Institute de Droit Européen of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Brussels, has completed training internships at the Chambre de Commerce International (CCI) in Paris, has been a visiting scholar at the University of Virginia (UVA), and has conducted research stays at the Sorbonne in Paris and New York University (NYU).

She has collaborated on editorial work with the Revista General de Derecho, has been Secretary General of the International Business Administration and Management Association (INBAM) and has collaborated with the Revista de Derecho Concursal y Paraconcursal.
